TEXIM EUROPE TO DISTRIBUTE MESHNETICS’ ZIGBEE™ MODULES AND DEVELOPMENT KITS

Haaksbergen, Netherlands and Bellevue, WA – February 13, 2007 – Texim Europe B.V., a leading European electronic component distributor today announced that it has entered a distribution agreement with MeshNetics, an award-winning ZigBee technology provider. Texim Europe will now carry MeshNetics’ line of the ZigBit 802.15.4/ZigBee modules, as well as MeshNetics’ Evaluation and Development Kits. The ZigBit modules enable OEMs to develop ZigBee compatible products faster by eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming RF development. Target applications include building automation, HVAC, automated meter reading, predictive maintenance, transportation, asset tracking, and more.

The ZigBit module is based on an all-Atmel hardware platform featuring ATmega 1281v MCU and the new AT86RF230 RF transceiver. Occupying less than a half square inch of space, the ZigBit module features best-in-class sensitivity, long range and low power consumption. The MeshNetics Evaluation Kit provides a convenient way to assess range performance and power consumption of modules in the field. The MeshNetics Development Kit enables developers to write custom embedded applications.

MeshNetics’ ZigBit modules, Evaluation Kits and Development Kits will be available from all Texim Europe’s sales offices. 802.15.4/ZigBee modules will have two antenna options; dual-chip antenna and balanced RF output for use with PCB antenna. All ZigBit modules will come bundled with networking stack firmware that enables the module-based wireless sensor devices to form self-healing, self-organizing mesh networks. Alternatively developers can manage ZigBee networks via set of AT-commands which is also provided. MeshNetics’ Evaluation Kits and Development Kits will include evaluation boards, software, accessories, documentation and technical support over e-mail.

Texim Europe will display MeshNetics products and a live ZigBee network demo at stand 12-269, hall 12.0 at the Embedded World 2007 Exhibition & Conference, a major European semiconductor show, in Nuernberg, Germany on February 13-15, 2007.
